TomTom GO 950 LIVE

The TomTom GO 950 comes with a free one month subscription to the brand new LIVE services. These provide real-time updates, supplying you with information relating to traffic reports, fuel prices and local amenities via the Google Local Search function. It also includes mapping for the whole of Europe as well as the USA and Canada.

As with most new TomTom devices the GO 950 has IQ Routes technology, which essentially calculates your routes and estimates your arrival time according to real life average speeds achieved on the roads. This is a sat nav for the hardcore, frequent traveller and you can use the Map Share function to benefit from the knowledge of other TomTom users who have created and corrected the existing maps to help make travelling much easier. There is even a function that allows you to choose the most eco-friendly route, which has the added bonus of improving your fuel economy.

In order to keep receiving the LIVE services you will need to pay a monthly subscription, but you can consider the free first month as a trial period to determine whether you require LIVE or not. The GO 950 will continue to function as an excellent sat nav with or without LIVE. However, if you do a reasonable amount of driving, the live traffic info is essential.
