Sony PS4 Review
The Sony PS4 rumour has taken another step forward towards reality.
Sony supremo, Kazuo ‘Kaz’ Hirai, has hinted that the next generation Playstation – the PS4 – may be here sooner than we think.
In a conversation with CNET, the Playstation boss hinted that we could see the PS4 console in just a few years time. Whilst saying that he thought the Sony PS3 was likely to have a 10 year lifespan, the PS4 may not take that long to appear.
“PlayStation 3 is going to be a console that’s going to be with you for 10 years,” he said, adding “We’re not going to ask the consumers to suddenly buy another PlayStation console in five years time, and basically have their investment go by the wayside.”
Contrary to the lifecycle of the first Playstation and the PS2, Kaz suggested that there was good reason that the PS3 and the PS4 could live side-by-side for several years. He did not go so far as to give an actual launch date for the PS4. Shame.
