Innovative Technology
The Sony HDR-UX3E camcorder utilises a range of clever technology to help you shoot fantastic videos with brilliant picture quality. The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens is teamed with a ClearVid CMOS Sensor to offer enhanced sensitivity, wider dynamic range and reduced smear. You can confidently continue shooting in low light thanks to the Auto Slow Shutter function which automatically increases the minimum illumination performance to 2 lux.
Lifelike Colour Reproduction
The Sony HD Handycam range produces natural-looking images with exceptional colour reproduction. The x.v.Colour mode nearly doubles the number of colours that are used to make up every scene to produce even more vivid, accurate reds, blues and greens beyond the conventional sRGB colours. The HDR-UX3E’s x.v.Colour technology is also compatible with the latest televisions that support the xvYCC standard so you are able to view your movies in the finest and most accurate quality.
High Definition Excellence
The Sony HDR-UX3E uses an AVCHD DVD format which stores your High Definition pictures on handy 8cm DVD discs, allowing you to then view and enjoy your footage on any HD-ready television set using a connected AVCHD-compatible Blu-ray player (such as the Playstation 3). Alternatively, you can connect the camcorder directly to an HD-ready television using the HDMI connector and use the supplied remote control to watch your movies from the comfort of your sofa.
Clear Photo LCD Plus Screen
It’s simple to frame and review your shots using the flip-out LCD touch screen with Clear Photo LCD plus technology. With a wide colour range and excellent image contrast, the screen makes it easy to view your shots in bright lit sunlight. In addition, zoom and recording start/stop buttons are within easy reach on the frame of the LCD screen making your shooting experience even more pleasurable.
Additional Shooting Functionality
The Sony HDR-UX3E features a Dual Rec function, allowing you to simultaneously record video and high resolution still images, whilst the Smooth Slow Rec setting captures fast-moving action at 200 frames per second so you can playback videos in natural slow motion with sound. To further enhance the shooting capabilities of the HDR-UX3E, there is a built-in flash for use when shooting still photography, and an Active Interface Shoe and Auto Lens Cover that slide shut to protect the Carl Zeiss lens when not in use.
