Sony HDR-SR10E 40GB High Definition Camcorder

Enjoy exceptional picture quality with High Definition 1920×1080 movies and up to 4.0 megapixel still photos. With an impressive 40GB hard disk drive this compact camcorder can record up to 15 hours of video.

Superb Picture Quality

The Sony HDR-SR10E records High Definition 1920×1080 video at 16Mbps using AVCHD (Audio Visual Compression for HD) technology, for footage with wonderful depth and clarity. The ClearVid CMOS sensor with Exmor derived technology ensures fantastic picture quality with high sensitivity and low noise. The x.v.Colour mode produces vivid, lifelike colours (almost twice as many colours as other camcorders) for realistic images that will really bring your videos to life – the full benefits will only be realised on a High Definition TV.

Innovative Sony Technology

With a Carl Zeiss 15x optical zoom lens, the HDR-SR10E brings far subjects closer for spectacular close-ups in crisp and clear detail. To make sure images are blur-free, Sony has included the Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation feature which improves still image and video stability, particularly in poor light. The clever Face Detection technology with Bit Allocation for video and photos ensures faces are reproduced clearly and are natural-looking, whilst the D-Range Optimiser alters the exposure and contrast to produce beautifully exposed shots, especially in awkward backlit conditions.

Adaptive Shooting

The Sony HDR-SR10E not only shoots and stores wonderful video footage, but it is also handy for capturing still photographs, with up to 4.0 megapixel resolution. The Advanced Dual Rec mode allows the user to simultaneously shoot 3.0 megapixel still photos whilst recording video so you can capture special memories in videos and photographs. All footage is saved onto the internal hard drive, although removable Sony Memory Sticks can be used for added storage and flexibility.

Easy-to-use Camcorder

The 2.7-inch Wide Clear Photo LCD Plus touch-screen offers simple viewing and quick access to HDR-SR10E’s set-up functions. The range of indexing options makes it easy to find and review your footage depending on your requirements: Face Index produces thumbnail images of faces within your video so you can select scenes containing friends and family; the Film Roll Index divides your footage into intervals making it easier to search for a specific event. Simply tap the touch-screen to play a selected scene.

PC Compatible

To transfer your movies and images to your PC, simply connect the HDR-SR10E via the supplied USB cable to utilise the One Touch Disc Burn and Easy PC back up features. The Picture Motion Browser software (included) makes it easy to search and edit your footage and has a handy web upload assist function so you can share your videos with others.

Having bought a Sony HDR SR10E camcorder and recorded 26 GB of movie on safari, I find it is virtually impossible to see the recorded data using a Sony KDL 26T3000 HD TV. I have almost thrown the camcorder through the TV.
Please, where can I find some useful info ( the Sony website is useless) which will guide me to connect the two devices using an HDMI cable and see the video. All the manuals say is plug this into this and bingo - untrue.
