The Sony Handycam HDR-HC9E Full HD Camcorder

Designed for video enthusiasts, the Sony HDR-HC9E offers outstanding 1080 High Definition video quality and advanced functionality.

High Definition Functionality

With full HD 1080 video recording on readily-available and affordable DV tape (HDV format), the HDR-HC9E features Sony’s ClearVid CMOS sensor which ensures excellent picture quality and higher sensitivity allowing you to shoot in a range of conditions. The sensor quickly captures fast-moving action in Smooth Slow Rec at 200 frames per second, for smooth slow motion playback with sound.

Superb Image Quality

The Sony HDR-HC9E features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens with 10x optical zoom which lets you shoot both near and far subjects with wonderfully crisp and clear image quality. Supported by Sony’s Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation technology, both still and video shots remain blur-free even in low light conditions. Up to 6 megapixel still photographs can be captured using the HDR-HC9E, and can even be taken during video recording when you select Dual Rec mode (up to 4.6 megapixels).

Sony x.v.Colour technology

For beautifully natural and lifelike videos, the HDR-HC9E features Sony’s x.v.Colour technology which creates almost twice as many colours as a standard RGB palatte. The results are accurate and vivid colour reproduction that really enhances the quality of your footage although footage needs to be viewed on a compatible television for truly outstanding colour quality.

2.7-inch Wide Clear Photo LCD Touch-Screen

The LCD touch-screen makes it easy to set-up and review your shots. The Clear Photo LCD technology covers a wide colour spectrum and improved contrast so you can accurately focus on your subjects, even in bright sunlight. Additional zoom and recording start/stop buttons on the screen’s frame let you operate the camcorder at waist height or from on top of a tripod.

Manual Functionality

Advanced videographers can manually control the camcorder’s settings, including the focus, exposure, shutter speed and white balance using the Assignable Dial. For complete flexibility, you can switch between HDV and DV recording, and capture fast-moving action in Smooth Slow Rec at 200 frames per second, for smooth slow motion playback with sound.

Full HD Capabilities

The Sony HDR-HC9E can be connected directly to any HD Ready television via the HDMI connector so you can enjoy your videos and still images in wonderful depth and clarity. The iLINK cable and software (included) lets you edit your footage on a connected PC, so you can create your perfect movie
