The Sony HDR-CX6EK features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T with a 10x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom so you can easily shoot and capture distant subjects without losing any picture quality. The ClearVid CMOS Sensor ensures your footage retains superb clarity and the x.v.Colour mode produces more vivid and lifelike colour – particularly relevant when shooting friends and family when skin tone reproduction is important. Sony’s Super SteadyShot technology makes certain that camera shake does not affect your footage, helping to produce clean and crisp movies.

Faster Scene Search

It is now even easier to find specific scenes from recorded footage, with the HDR-CX6EK’s variety of intelligent browsing functions, including Film Roll Index, Face Index, and Highlight Index. Film Roll Index creates index points at intervals from 3 seconds to 5 minutes and can be performed both on the camcorder and on your PC using the Picture Motion Browser software (included). Face Index makes it easy to search for people within a scene of footage – the HDR-SR8E automatically identifies scenes containing faces and produces thumbnail images, so you can browse scenes featuring friends and family. Highlight Searches can be run on your PC to identify brightly-lit, colourful scenes with voices.

Easy-to-use Functionality

Beginner and advanced users will find the Sony HDR-CX6EK easy-to-use whether shooting High Definition movies or still photographs. Up to 6.1 Megapixel images can be captured on the HDR-CX6EK and 4.6 Megapixel images can even be taken whilst you are recording movies – simply select Dual Rec mode. The 2.7″ wide Clear photo LCD plus touch-screen makes it easy to select settings, capture footage and review your recordings. The straightforward home menu and guide function ensure you can easily navigate the various functions and settings.

High Definition Output

Use the HDMI connector to watch your HD movies on any HD-ready TV in beautiful depth and clarity. To save and store your videos on your PC, simply connect the HDR-CX6EK via the USB 2.0 High speed connection.
