Sony DVP-PR30 DVD Player
Although Sony creates most of its ranges to cater to enthusiasts and those seeking superior fidelity in their home entertainment, it also builds some products that are aimed at the lower end of the market.
The Sony DVP-PR30 is one such device and with its availability in three different colours including black, pink and baby blue, it is the perfect first DVD player for a youngster or someone with a particular style.
Whilst this is an entry-level DVD player, the DVP-PR30 still has the classic Sony build quality and design. It is a top-loading player, which is slightly unusual and it does not have any display to indicate playback time or chapter, which is perhaps one area in which corners have been cut. However, this is not a major issue given that this information can be called up onscreen using the remote at any time.
The DVP-PR30 can play back standard retail DVDs, as well as various rewritable and recordable formats from DVD-RW to CD-R. Audio files are also accessible and you can view JPEG image files that you have burned to CD on your television using this player. With its quirky looks and ample playback options, the Sony DVP-PR30 offers great quality at a budget device.
