The Sony DSLR-A100K Digital SLR Camera

The state-of-the-art A100K digital SLR camera has a large 10 megapixel APS-size CCD imager and advanced Sony technology to produce stunning images in any conditions. This SLR camera comes with the multipurpose SAL-1870 lens, which covers wide-angle 27mm to 105mm midrange telephoto to effortlessly handle portraits, landscapes and interior shots.

Super SteadyShot Image Stabilisation

The DSLR-A100K digital camera includes Super SteadyShot in-camera image stabilisation, which works with all additional lenses. This feature is invaluable when shooting with high sensitivity, as it automatically reduces image blur to compensate for hand-shake or fast-moving subjects. The DSLR-A100K captures beautifully sharp photos, even in poor light without the flash or without a tripod thanks to the high-sensitivity (ISO 1600) rating.

Exceptional Image Quality

Sony’s Dynamic Range Optimiser ensures your images look perfect by automatically increasing detail in bright and dark picture areas; whilst the advanced Bionz Image Processor improves the camera’s response time to capture wonderfully exposed photos.
The exposure is accurately controlled by a 40-segment honeycomb sensing system which provides multi-pattern measuring, although more confident photographers can use the manual exposure control for even greater creative freedom in a range of shooting conditions. The Sony DSLR-A100K also lets you manage the focus with foreground, background or off-centre subjects.

Eye-Start Auto-focus System

Some cameras only start focusing when the shutter button is half-pressed, which can slow down the response time. However, the DSLR-A100K starts its precision auto-focus adjustments as soon as you bring your eye to the viewfinder, helping you to capture fast-action subjects without blurriness. The Continuous Burst Mode is great for shooting fast-moving subjects – it will continuously capture JPEG images up to the limit of the flash memory card at a rate of three frames per second. The RAW Burst Mode with intelligent buffer management allows up to six shots to be taken without having to wait for the buffer to clear.

Advanced Lenses

The Sony DSLR-A100K camera kit comes with the SAL-1870 lens, but is compatible with a wide range of lenses and accessories, including Sony “G” Series lenses with advanced motorised auto-focusing; the incredibly bright Carl Zeiss T coated lenses; and professional-quality flash units. The Anti-Dust technology keeps the CCD imager clean and free form dust, which can enter the camera when changing lenses. The static-free anti-dust coating on the CCD filter and the anti-dust vibration, which automatically shakes the CCD to dislodge dust every time the camera is turned off, help to guarantee clean photographs.
