The Lightweight Sony SR72E HDD Handycam

This lightweight camcorder is designed particularly for people looking for high storage capacity. The SR72E can store almost 42 hours of high quality footage directly onto the 60GB high capacity hard disk drive, without the need for additional tapes or discs.

Superb Image Quality

With a 1 Megapixel Advanced HAD CCD sensor, the SR72E effortlessly captures and reproduces high resolution images, in fine detail and with accurate colour replication, so you can relive your special memories over and over again. The acclaimed Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens captures images with precise contrast and clarity, and the powerful 25x Optical Zoom and 2000x Digital Zoom let you to shoot and focus on both near and far subjects without affecting the quality of your images.

Super SteadyShot Technology

Sony’s Super SteadyShot picture stabilisation technology minimises the effects of camera shake, to enhance the picture quality and reduce the chance of blurred shots. As a result, your images will be beautifully crisp and well-defined, even when recorded in poorly lit conditions when the Auto Slow Shutter mode automatically boosts the minimum illumination to up to 5 lux.

Smart Protection System

The Sony SR72E Handycam features a Hard Disk Drive Smart Protection system to guard against the accidental loss of your files. A physical shock absorber protects the hard disk drive against physical jolts and knocks whilst the camera is in operation and a 3G sensor detects sudden movement in three dimensions so it can differentiate between accidental drops and other body actions. In addition, video stream buffering makes certain that the camcorder will continue to record footage smoothly.

Wide 2.7″ Hybrid LCD Screen

With a 2.7-inch Wide Hybrid LCD screen and touch panel, it is easy to set-up, view, and review your shots on the SR72E. The useful Home menu makes it easy to navigate the camcorder’s settings and the Guide function is useful for understanding the various settings so you can maximise your shooting capabilities. For those simply wishing to point-and-shoot, just press the Easy Handycam button and the camera will automatically adjust the settings so you can concentrate on shooting.

Handycam Station

The SR72E comes with Sony’s Handycam Station which allows you to quickly view your images on a connected TV or PC via the analogue and Hi-Speed USB connectors. Handily, the station also charges the SR72E whilst you are playing back or transferring your footage. The One-Touch Disc Burn function is particularly useful, as it lets you record an hour’s worth of video onto DVD via a connected PC in around 20 minutes, so you can easily share and save your videos.
