It may be small and lightweight, but the Sony SR55E features impressive technology to ensure you capture wonderful footage of exceptional quality. The 1 Megapixel CCD sensor produces high resolution images with accurate colour reproduction and the Super SteadyShot picture stabilisation technology improves the picture quality by minimising the effects of camera shake which can result in blurred shots. The results are beautifully sharp and defined images, even when recorded in low light conditions when the Auto Slow Shutter mode automatically boosts the minimum illumination performance up to 5 lux.

Quick, Easy Searches

It is easy to find specific scenes from your recorded material with the SR55E’s Face Index and Film Roll Index. The Face Index works with the Face Detection Technology to produce thumbnail images of faces – just tap the LCD screen to play your selected scene. Alternatively, choose the Film Roll Index to search scenes within each recorded chapter at your own defined intervals, from 3 seconds to 5 minutes.

Crash Protection Features

To protect your videos, the SR55E Handycam has a HDD Smart Protection system to prevent your files being lost accidentally. The physical shock absorber protects the hard disk drive against physical jarring and bumps during operation and a 3G sensor detects sudden movement in three dimensions so it can differentiate between accidental drops and other body actions. Plus, video stream buffering ensures that the camcorder continues to record smoothly.

Wide Hybrid 2.7″ LCD Touchscreen

The Sony SR55E features a 2.7-inch Wide Hybrid LCD touchscreen so you can select the camcorder settings, setup and review your shots. The quick ON button lets you quickly start-up the camcorder from sleep mode.

Handycam Station

Sony’s Handycam Station (included) makes it easy to quickly view your images on a connected TV or PC via the analogue and Hi-Speed USB connectors. The station also charges the SR55E whilst you are enjoying your footage. The handy One-Touch Disc Burn function can record an hour’s worth of video onto DVD via a connected PC in around 20 minutes, so you can swiftly share and save your videos.
