The 30GB Sony SR35E Camcorder

Record up to 20 hours of high quality video footage directly on to the Handycam’s impressive 30GB Hard Disk Drive, without having to worry about tapes or discs – perfect for people who like to shoot on the go with minimal fuss.

A Powerful Zoom Lens

The Sony SR35E is packed full of technology to ensure you shoot and store videos of exceptional quality. The acclaimed Carl Zeiss lens offers outstanding resolution and colour reproduction, and features an incredibly powerful 40x optical zoom which allows you to confidently capture distant subjects without compromising the picture quality. The wide angle performance is 20% better than in previous models making it easier to shoot outdoor scenery or groups of people in one frame.

Practical and Easy To Use

Designed specifically to be used on the move, the SR35E is extremely compact and lightweight so it can be carried wherever you go. By storing your footage on its hard drive, it is much easier to search and view your footage to find a particular scene. In particular, the ‘Film Roll Index’ automatically creates scene index points within each recorded chapter at your own defined intervals, from 3 seconds to 5 minutes, so you’ll never have to scan through a video again.

Face Detection Technology

The SR35E camcorder features Sony’s ‘Face Index’ which utilises Face Detection Technology to find ‘people pictures’ from a scene of continuously shot footage. The HDR-SR35E will automatically find scenes containing faces and will produce thumbnail images so you can simply browse the scenes to find footage of friends and family. When ready, use the touch-screen to make your selection and play the clip.

Crash Protection Technology

To avoid losing your special memories and one-off footage, the Sony SR35E has an HDD Smart Protection system to protect your shots. A physical shock absorber protects the hard drive against physical jarring and bumps whilst the camera is in use and a 3G sensor detects abrupt motion in three dimensions to identify between accidental drops and other movements.

Transferring Your Footage

The Sony SR35E comes with a Handycam Station which can be linked permanently to a TV via an analogue connector so you can instantly watch your videos on a big screen without worrying about tapes or discs. Alternatively, the Hi-Speed USB port allows you to connect the Handycam Station to a PC where you can use the One-Touch Disc Burn feature to transfer an hour’s worth of video onto DVD in just 20 minutes.

Hi, been looking for a replacement camera for a while, other group members use the SR32 camcorder, but its gone up in price for some reason?.
If your gonna use it for paranormal work, then i suggest getting the SONY IR light with cold shoe, this screws on to the tripod mounting hole on the bottom, then the IR light fits into the cold shoe and is battery operated and will not drain camera power, and this greatly increases night vision to around 20 metres, as these camcorders only have the one ir sensor light, other than the two in my old analogue sony handycam which did not need any enhancement.

great camcorder for paranormal work and highly recomended to my fellow ghosthunters!
