Superb Photo Quality
With 6.0 effective Megapixels and a 3x Optical Zoom, the Sony Cyber-shot S500 takes natural images with well-balanced colours and detailed clarity. The 13x Smart Zoom, 6x Precision Digital Zoom and Macro mode offer the user further capabilities to shoot and create wonderful images. Select one of the scene modes, including Beach, Candle, Landscape and Twilight, and the Cyber-shot S500 will automatically adjust the exposure and flash settings; the results are wonderful photos that capture the scene. The ISO400 high sensitivity rating allows you to continue shooting in poorly lit conditions, whilst making sure your images do not lose quality.
Large 2.4-inch LCD Screen
The Sony Cyber-shot S500 features a well-sized LCD screen so you can easily compose and review your images. When you are ready to print your photographs, simply connect the camera to any PictBridge compatible printer (using the supplied cable) without having to transfer your images to a PC. You can also connect the Cyber-shot S500 to a television to share your photos with family and friends.
Worry-free Photography with the S500
You can happily take the Cyber-shot S500 out for the day without worrying that the battery may run down or you’ll run out of memory. The Stamina Battery Life allows you to take around 350 shots before having to re-charge the battery; whilst the 25MB internal memory means you do not have to worry about transferring your images immediately onto a PC or other memory source.
Movie Capabilities
You can even record short movies, with sound, on the Sony Cyber-shot S500 at a maximum resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, although the zoom cannot be used whilst recording. This is a great way to capture and relive special occasions, when a still image isn’t quite enough.
