Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera Review
The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H10 – small yet powerful
The compact Cyber-shot DSC-H10 digital camera offers an 8.1 effective megapixel resolution and high-quality 10x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. Intended to be the replacement for the Sony H3, however, there are just a few subtle changes – perhaps driven by the fact that the H3 was launched just 3 months before the H10. The primary difference is the slighttly larger screen and the subsequent increase in pixels.
Powerful Performance
Despite being small, the Cyber-shot DSC-H10 is packed with advanced Sony technology including a high-power flash which illuminates subjects up to 14m away (at wide angle and ISO 3200 settings), making it an ideal choice for sporting events, family occasions and holidays. Capturing action-packed moments is made easy with the advanced Sports Shooting mode which combines fast shutter speed with continuous predictive auto-focus to freeze quickly-moving subjects with reduced shutter lag.
Automatic Processing
Sony’s intelligent Face Detection technology identifies and tracks up to eight faces in a scene, and will automatically adjust the focus and exposure to ensure your portraits are crisp and clear. The BIONZ processor quickly optimises and processes shots to produce beautifully exposed and balanced photographs in a wide range of shooting conditions.
In-Camera Technology
The Cyber-shot DSC-H10 digital camera features Sony’s Double Anti-Blur system to capture wonderful natural-looking images without using flash – ideal for shooting in poorly lit conditions. The high sensitivity rating (up to ISO 3200) combines with Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation which minimises the effects of hand-shake to produce crisp, blur-free images when shooting without a tripod. In addition, the D-Range Optimiser (DRO) will automatically process awkward back-lit scenes with strong highlights and dark shadow detail; the results are natural-looking, evenly exposed images.
View and Review
The large 3-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen is ideal for viewing and reviewing your shots, whilst the camera’s menu is easy to navigate. You can also fine-tune your images whilst they are on the camera, using the Cyber-shot DSC-H10’s red-eye reduction. This is particularly useful if you want to immediately share your photos without having to transfer them onto a PC. Playback your photos on the screen as slideshows with one of the musical accompaniments, or upload your own music from a connected PC. To view your images in full High-Definition quality, simply connect the Cyber-shot DSC-H10 to any HD television and enjoy the unparalleled depth of colour and detail.
