Siemens Gigaset C595

The Siemens Gigaset C595 is the latest cordless phone from this leading manufacturer.

The C595 comes with an integrated answering machine and fits comfortably into any home or small office.

Siemens themselves call it their best-in-class phone but I always think that this reflects poorly on the other phones in their class and as such says not very much. If they are trying to say that the C595 is better than it’s rivals, then perhaps there is some merit in that.

The Gigaset C595 has the following features;

• Answering Machine – upto 45 mins record time
• Baby Alarm
• Large TFT Colour Display
• Radiation-Free ECO Mode

At first glance, the C595 is good-looking, handles well and is easy-to-use. The large colour TFT display helps with this, as does the now familiar Gigaset design. Build quality seems good too but clearly only time will tell on this one. We have however, no evidence to suggest it won’t be as good as the only Gigaset phones.

The integrated baby alarm is an interesting feature. It works by entering an external number, if you are away from home, or an internal number if you are at home and have multiple handsets. You then leave one of the handsets with your child. We think this is fine for when you are at home in another room but aren’t comfortable with the out-of-home option, perhaps we are too protective.

The Gigaset C595 will allow upto 6 handsets to be used, which seems plenty for any home, however large.

The traditional Siemens build quality extends to the C595 and as such the sound quality is excellent.
