Samsung E1120 Phone

Samsung E1120 is another new phone that will be released this year along with other phones like Nokia N900, Nexus One and many more. However, these phones can’t be compared to each other as E1120 is a budget phone and doesn’t come with any hi-tech features.

It is a good phone for people who look for phones in the lower end of price spectrum and use the phone for fulfilling the basic necessities. It can be compared to the Nokia 5030 Xpress Radio, as both phones are quite similar and also falls in the lower range of price spectrum.

Samsung E1120 comes with a 1.52 inch CSTN screen allowing maximum of 65,000 colours with a 128×128 pixel resolution. The phone comes with an inbuilt memory, which can hold up to 200 phonebook entries, and there is no option for memory expansion. The phone doesn’t have any primary or secondary camera and has class 10 GPRS connectivity with a maximum transfer speed of 48Kbps EDGE.

The battery allows a maximum talk time of 8.5 hrs and standby time of up to 540 hours. There is no media player on this phone and there is no possibility of downloading and playing any kind of music. Other features available on the phone are Organiser, voice memo, T9 dictionary and Mobile tracker.

The phone comes with a black outer casing which makes the phone looks good. The front of the phone is in light greyish colour that adds to the phone’s appeal. The phone has fairly ease to use keyboard and the keyboard is a normal numeric one.

The keys however are a bit to flat making it a bit harder to use when you want to type a text quickly. The phone is of good size (105.6 x43 x15.1mm) and weighs only about 66.4grams. The phone is quite light making it easy to carry around in pocket and easy to operate with one hand. The screen looks a bit cramped and small especially when you look at the main menu. The phone’s internal memory is very minimal and it’s a really disadvantage that it cannot be expanded at all.

The phone is quite ok for its money but will not appeal to many people. The phone lacks even a basic 1.3MP camera, which is a real disappointment. The phone also doesn’t have a Bluetooth or a USB port and doesn’t even allow the user to send EMS or MMS. The Mobile tracker feature is however a useful one as it tells the owner of the phone if the SIM is changed at all, allowing the user to keep track of his mobile phone. The interface is very user friendly as it is really a basic one. The battery life of the phone is really great as compared to phones in the same price spectrum, the other phones like Nokia 5610 only gives about 5 hours of talk time.

The phone is really great for its price and the features available are also easy enough to use by any user.
