The VoiceStation 300 has three gated cardioid microphones with intelligent microphone mixing, that give uniform coverage for all involved and is suitable for conferences with few participants of no more than four people.

In addition, digitally-tuned and highly effective speakers also mean 360-degree room coverage is provided for up to seven feet. Utilising DNR (Dynamic Noise Reduction) technology together with Polycom’s full-duplex and sensitive microphone technology, means background and room noises are reduced to a bare minimum, ensuring that all callers are clearly heard.

DNR is a more advanced form of noise reduction that unlike its predecessors can be used to remove background noise from any audio signal, by as much as 10 db (decibels). That includes magnetic tape recordings and FM radio transmissions. As opposed to half duplex technology whereby only one caller can talk at a given time, full duplex technology allows in excess of one individual to be able to communicate simultaneously.
