The Polycom SoundStation IP 4000 is an improvement over its predecessor, the SoundStation IP 3000, providing better voice quality. Designed for small to medium sized conferences, the SIP conferencing unit is versatile and user friendly. Making use of Polycom’s acoustic clarity technology, the phone produces crystal clear voice quality. The full duplex technology it features, enables more than one caller to speak at the same time without having their sentences clipped.

Unlike the previous half-duplex technology which only allows one person to talk, full-duplex makes it possible for two or more people to communicate simultaneously. The SoundStation IP 4000 has very sensitive microphones that pick up users’ voices from a distance of up to 10 feet, which means those at the other end of the call will hear what is being said clearly and distinctly. Polycom SoundStation IP 4000 utilises gated microphone technology which keeps background noises and echoes to a bare minimum, enabling callers to participate from very noisy environments.

The SoundStation IP 4000 SIP also provides familiar features that are easy to use. A menu driven user interface, viewable on a high-resolution backlit LCD, offers convenient access to frequently used business telephony functions, including transfer, hold, redial, and conference. SoundStation IP 4000 lets callers enjoy business class SIP features such as directories, three-way local conferencing, call forwarding, transfer, hold, voice mail, presence, HTTPS secure provisioning which encrypts the conversations and makes sure that callers can have peace of mind while conferencing.

The conference phone also has the capability of being fitted with extra microphones in order to accommodate more users. It is fitted with three microphones which guarantee 360-degree room coverage. Polycom SoundStation IP 4000 can be centrally provisioned and easily upgraded in the field together with Polycom SIP desktop phones, making the unit even more practical and versatile.
