Plantronics Encore Pro Headsets

Plantronics have unveiled the latest addition to their office headset range – the Plantronics Encore Pro.

We’re told, by Plantronics, that this is more than just another product range. The Encore Pro has had a tremendous amount of money spent on it through it’s development and as such is being hailed as the next generation of corded headset.

The Encore Pro range will replace the current Encore headset range, such as the popular Encore H91N. The new headsetsEncore Pro HW291N and Encore Pro HW301N – are available in one earpiece monaural and a two earpiece binaural design. The design emphasis has been placed on comfort and durability, which is absolutely essential when choosing a headset for long use such as in an office or call centre.

The design is very distinctive, very different from anything else Plantronics have done before. We really like the modern look and feel of the Encore Pro, very sleek. As a consequence of this modern look, the headsets are slim and very lightweight.

I’ve worn the Encore Pro for a full day and it felt just as good at the end of the day as it did in the morning. The one thing I had to adjust though was the mic position. Because the mic is so sensitive, I had to position the boom so that it wasn’t too close to my mouth. Plantronics tell me that this is because the headset is designed to be used as a low slung headset – in other words, keep the boom low.

Part of the reason the Encore Pro headsets are more comfortable than other headsets is what may appear to be quite a small thing but actually makes a big difference. The ear pieces are slightly larger and so cover more of the ear. Add this to the lighter weight and it goes someway to confirm Plantronics claim that the range is designed for comfort. A claim we can agree with. The other thing that helps to make these a comfortable headset is that the ear cushions are thicker and plusher.

Plantronics have designed the Encore Pro around a major feature they call seven axes of adjustability. This means rather than just the headband and boom microphone being the only adjustable parts, there are seven points that can be rotated, moved and adapted to ensure the headset fits the wearer like a glove.

To keep up with today’s increasing VoIP market, the Plantronics Encore Pro has been made VoIP ready. This is thanks its wideband audio qualities and enhanced echo control technology, so even if you haven’t yet joined the VoIP revolution, your headset investment is preserved – or to coin a phrase, future proofed.

As standard, the Encore Pro is fitted with a newly styled sliding microphone with improved noise canceling technology, which even in the noisiest of offices will deliver a clear, crisp conversation to the caller.

The Encore Pro is fitted with a standard Plantronics Quick Disconnect plug so any current Plantronics headset users can quickly replace their old headset with the Encore Pro by simply connecting into their existing Plantronics headset connection cable.
