Nokia 6700

The Nokia 6700 is one of the Nokia Classic range, a range of phones that are designed to have a stylish, classic mobile phone look and be easy to use as phones first and foremost, rather than complex PDA’s, music and gaming systems as most modern phones seem to have become.

This back to basics approach has seen the Classic line become one of the highest selling and biggest earning lines in the Nokia range and are hugely popular with users, who appreciate the importance of functionality above gadgets, who like their phone’s main use to be that of a phone. The low pricing helps considerably too mind!

As with most of the Classic line, the Nokia 6700 is a very good looking phone that doesn’t pretend it is anything else. No touch screen modern madness, no little attempts at style with odd bulges. It is a classic style of phone, slim (11mm in depth) and elegant.

The large 2.2 inch screen takes up a lot of the phone, a display size that will make sure that no one is squinting to see what is written on the phone. It is also a wonderful display for showing pictures (16 million colours) etc which, despite being a ‘stripped down’ phone is still present – as it is all but a necessity on mobile phones these days.

The camera is a 5 mega pixel one which is very good quality, able to do the job of a digital camera in all but the most taxing of circumstances. It comes with an LED flash for dark shots which is handy. It should be noted that at no point does the camera interfere with the easy of use, and nor do the other options available. The menu lay out is still easy to use and intuitive, if you simply want to use the phone to call then it is simplicity it’s self.

Once you get past the basic options that allow it to be called a classic phone there are actually a considerable number of applications and extras that make this a high class phone. For example there is GPS navigation with preloaded Nokia maps, which helps to ensure that you never get lost (very useful). The sort of thing you would pay a lot of money for in an item that wasn’t on your mobile phone.

The phone has 1GB in internal memory which is expandable to 8GB. This is wonderful for those who like to take a lot of pictures of video’s using the phone’s camera, or who like to take advantage of the MP3 player capabilities and use the phone to listen to music, you can store hundreds and even thousands of songs on that amount of internal storage space.

The Nokia 6700 is an easy to use, cheap, stylish phone that also has a huge amount of options available to it. Considering how many expensive phones that forget their main role is a phone you can certainly see why the 6700 has become a massively popular phone
