HP Envy 13-1000 Notebook PC
As the name suggests, the HP Envy is a laptop that deserves jealous glances, although it is not a particularly ostentatious-looking bit of hardware. It has Windows 7 pre-installed and there are many benefits offered by the latest Microsoft operating system, including improved performance and better battery life for laptop users.
The HP Envy is powered by a 1.86Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and there is 3GB of RAM to ensure that applications load and run smoothly. You can beef up the RAM to 5GB at a later date, so there is always room for a performance boost when you can afford it.
The Envy has a 250GB hard drive and a 13.1 inch display with LED backlighting technology which results in a pleasingly slim screen and a brighter image, backed up by an ATI graphics card for mobile gaming, featuring 512 MB of dedicated graphics memory to help chew through modern games with ease.
The Envy has built-in Wi-Fi, which is compatible with the latest 802.11n standard for fast wireless transfer speeds and it is of course backwards compatible with older network standards. With all this new technology on board you will be paying a premium, but you should get the performance to match.
