GN Netcom, the headset guys, have launched two new products for the Unified Communications, UC, market.

They are the Jabra GO 6400 and the Jabra PRO 9400 Series headsets, and they are the first Bluetooth and DECT headset solutions, respectively, to feature a touch screen base. These new headsets are expected to launch in September 2009, and are firmly aimed at the professional office headset market.

The Jabra GO 6400 and the Jabra PRO 9400 Series both share the flexibility of mobile phone headsets but combine this with the flexibility of users utilising just one headset across both their mobile and office phones.

The Jabra GO 6400 is ideal for employees who are often away from their desks and out on the road but yet still want to retain Bluetooth connectivity. The Jabra PRO 9400 utilises DECT technology and as such is intended for desk based users. However, it is intended for people who use a number of different phones. In keeping with GN Netcom’s commitment to UC, both the Jabra GO 6400 and Jabra PRO 9400 Series are compatible for use with leading UC applications, such as Microsoft OC.

Jabra GO 6400 and Jabra PRO 9400 Series Innovations

A SmartSetup wizard on the touch screen guides users through the simple process of connecting phones and choosing preferences. The resolution is clear and colour icons allow users to easily manage calls via the touch screen. These include caller ID, call records and management of calls and devices.

The touch screen base takes up minimal desk space and when not in use, the headset slots easily into the magnetic docking station for charging. The screen display is automatically dimmed during periods of inactivity to reduce power consumption.

The Jabra GO 6400 and Jabra PRO 9400 Series are the first wireless headsets to feature a user-friendly, intuitive Touch Screen which connects the mobile, desk and softphone to the headset. This touch screen base connects to the headset via Bluetooth, for the Jabra GO 6400, or DECT for the Jabra PRO 9400. Users can switch easily between their mobile, desk and softphone.

Using the multifunction button and headset touch sensor, users can answer/end calls remotely, reject/redial calls, switch between calls or adjust the volume.
