Canon XH G1 Camcorder

Designed for handheld shooting, the Canon XL G1 combines industry standard technology with intelligent operation.

XH G1 Features

The advanced controls of the Canon XH G1 are made simple to access thanks to intelligent, user-friendly design. Separate ring controls, one each for manual focus, zoom and lens iris, are conveniently located on the body of the Canon L-series lens.

A large 2.8″ widescreen LCD lets you compose and assess your footage in style. It can be folded away when not in use, allowing you to continue working with the 0.57 EVF (electronic viewfinder).

The Canon XH G1 features an internal battery system, which allows shooting to proceed even in strenuous conditions.

Created for stand-alone operation as well as smooth integration into a professional studio environment, the Canon XH G1 comes packed with advanced connectivity. Independent XLR audio inputs (x2), SDI output, Gen lock input and Time Code input/output provide extensive shooting and editing possibilities that go beyond the capabilities of a single camera.

Optical Technology

Remarkable HDV 1080i quality video is captured by the powerful 1/3″ 1.67 Megapixel 3CCD sensor setup of the Canon XH G1 and recorded to digital video (MiniDV).

The DIGIC DV II chip inside the Canon XH G1 digital camcorder was created to deal with the increased requirements of HDV data. It provides lightening-quick responses and advanced image handling, enabling movies and stills to be processed independently.

Outstanding image quality is assured with the 32.5-650mm (35mm range) Canon L-series lens featuring fluorite elements and Ultra-low Dispersion glass. The integrated Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer ensures shake free recording and smooth performance.

Image softness caused by incorrect focusing is much more noticeable with high definition video. Canon comes to the rescue with Instant AF, a hybrid system that delivers error-free focusing in an instant. For manual focusing needs select the Focus Assist option.

Advanced Shooting Options

With professional filmmaking in mind, the Canon XH G1 incorporates some sophisticated shooting features such as adjustable frame rates (50i and 25F), custom presets, and cine gamma, a function that replicates the characteristics of film.

Adjustable image controls including matrix, gain and colour correction give you a wide range of creative shooting options.
