A 12.1 Megapixel CCD sensor records images in amazing detail, giving high quality photographic prints up to poster size. The huge 3.0″ high resolution PureColor LCD II with a wide viewing angle delivers crisp, clear images in vibrant colour that can be viewed from every angle. A scratch-resistant, anti-glare coating provides protection against bumps and scrapes and enables better visibility in bright conditions.
A powerful 6x optical zoom lens incorporating Canon’s acclaimed Optical Image Stabilizer neutralises camera shake. Combined with Auto ISO Shift technology and ISO speeds up to 1600 this allows low-light, flash free photography to be tackled with confidence.

Fantastic people shots are a touch of a button away thanks to the innovative Face Detection AF/AE/FE technology onboard the Canon PowerShot G9. The technology automatically detects subjects within the picture frame and chooses the best focus, exposure and flash settings. With the Face Select and Track options you can even pick your subject out of a crowd.
The PowerShot G9 allows you to fine tune your shooting needs with a range of focus settings. Choose from manual focus, 9-point AiAf or FlexiZone AF/AE to give you more control on where you place your subjects in-frame.
Shooting Modes
Take complete control of your shots with RAW image recording. When shooting in RAW mode, images are recorded without any processing or compression. The supplied RAW image task software acts as your very own digital dark room, allowing you to process and edit your photos with the settings that are right for you. For maximum versatility, images can be captured simultaneously in RAW and JPEG formats.
The Canon PowerShot G9 boasts 25 shooting modes ranging from automatic scene settings to complete manual control. Two custom settings allow you to configure the camera to suit your needs. The pioneering My Colours function lets you apply in-camera colour effects, opening up a new dimension in creative photography.
