Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS Camera
The 8.0 Megapixel CCD sensor of the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS captures every scene in crisp detail and high resolution, delivering lab quality photo prints. A generous 3″ PureColour LCD with a scratch-resistant, anti-glare coating and improved colour reproduction enables you to take, review and edit your photos in intense, lifelike colour and sharp resolution.
The Digital IXUS 860 IS incorporates a wide-angle Ultra-High Refractive Index Aspherical (UA) 3.8x zoom lens featuring Canon’s acclaimed optical Image Stabilizer to neutralise camera shake and ensure exceptional performance.
Avoid Camera Shake
Approach low-light shooting with confidence. ISO speeds up to 1600 will allow you to snap sharp images in conditions where flash photography is not a possibility. Where camera shake is predicted the ingenious ISO Auto Shift will make sure image blur is avoided, allowing you to take great photos with ease, even in the lowest of light. In tandem with the Canon optical Image Stabilizer these features offer improved protection against blurring during long exposures.
A handy Touch Control Dial makes selecting menu features whilst shooting or browsing captured images in playback a simple task.
Advanced Technology
The sophisticated technologies on the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS ensure magnificent results. Canon’s DIGIC III processor delivers superb image quality, excellent noise reduction and quick, intuitive responses. iSAPS technology works in the background to analyse your subject and select the most favourable key camera settings, allowing you to concentrate on getting the perfect photo.
Another exceptional feature of the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS is Face Detection AF/AE/FE. Subjects are automatically detected within the frame and the optimum focus, exposure and flash settings are selected, allowing you to take effortless people shots at the press of a button. My Category then tags each image to enable easy access to your photos, helping to speed up tasks such as printing and deleting.
During playback mode, Face Detection Technology enables you to amend any red-eye caused by flash photography.
Shooting
A choice of 17 shooting modes, including specific Special Scene options, deliver the versatility to capture the action no matter what the situation. The My Colours function gives you the opportunity to perform in-camera colour effects with both images and movies.
Tired of snapping images? The Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS gives you the chance to shoot VGA movies with sound at 30fps and even includes a Long Play function to capture clips that use half the normal storage space. A time-lapse movie function even enables the capture of unfolding scenes such as the rising sun to be played back as seamless video clips.
A Digital Tele-Converter provides you with telephoto capabilities without having to add an additional lens converter to the camera.
