Acer Aspire One

Acer has produced a number of super-portable laptop computers in the recent past, but the new Aspire One is the slimmest and sexiest of the bunch. With an 11.6 inch widescreen display it also sports one of the largest screens of any netbook and it still manages to weigh just a touch over 1KG, making it perfect for people who need to carry their laptop with them everywhere.

Inside is the standard Intel Atom processor that you might expect to find on many other miniature computers designed for mobility. The Acer One also sports a 160GB hard drive, a card reader, multiple USB ports and a D-SUB output for if you choose to hook it up to a larger monitor, HDTV or projector for a presentation.

Thanks to the low power consumption of its components, the Acer One should be able to go for over 8 and a half hours without requiring a mains power supply. It has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and also has a 3G modem embedded in its shell, making it perfect for use if you have a mobile broadband contract and are fed up with plugging in a USB dongle each time you want to get online.
